Wedding

We got married on 18th June 1998.A Hindu Wedding is not simply an exchange of vows and rings. It includes a number of religious rites before and during the wedding, which are performed in the presence of family deities. These represent the importance of the bond between a husband and wife. A Hindu marriage or Vivaha is incomplete without the blessings of a spiritual or divine element. All prayers in Hindu ceremonies start by invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha

T
raditional Indian wedding ceremonies are rich in rituals and elaborate   in guidelines with details covering all activities and functions. From the warm welcome to the groom's baraat to the sensitive bidaai of  the bride. They are simple, complex, solemn, and colorful.  They involve not only the bride and groom but also the parents, in-laws, sisters, brothers, uncles --- including mamas, long forgotten relatives and close friends. These ceremonies are  often spread over many days and nights with a variety of functions to entertain the guests with dazzling activities.

Ring Ceremony
As gold lasts for ever, rings made of gold are exchanged by the couple in order to represent a long married life. It is believed that the fourth finger of the hand has a vein leading directly to the heart. Hence the groom wears the ring on the fourth finger of his right hand and the bride wears hers on the fourth finger of her left hand in order to form a complete heart.

Haladi

On the wedding day the bride and groom are smear with turmeric. The bride looks glorious in all her finery.
